On tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.
Pours a clear dark honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, rye, earth, citrus zest, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with earthy, spicy rye and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that has some very earthy and spicy rye flavors.
