On nitro tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.
Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, coffee bean, and earth aromas. Taste is much the same with chocolate syrup, vanilla bean, and brewed coffee flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has medium bodied and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with lots of sticky chocolate and coffee characteristics all around.
