12 oz bottle

Nice shimmering darker honey glow to this one, khaki cap stays a while, leaves nice looking fine mini sheets of lacing.

Honey malts on the nose with a back note of tropical fruit hops

Tasty ale, with malt in the forefront, soft and smooth hops making their presence known but not on the aggressive side.

Smooth and tasty, hops on the muted side...sort of a Brit style DIPA....decent but nothing to drive long distances for...

Picked up a 12 oz single from Sicilianos in GR. I'm always up for trying a new IPA or DIPA, especially when I can sample one bottle at a time. No Bombers or 4/6 packs in case they're a drain pour. No ABV or IBU listed on the bottle. Surprised to find a DIPA at only 6.8%.

L: Hazy burnt orange copper color with a 1 inch head that fades quickly
S: Slightly hoppy sweet nose. Not much else other than some mild citrus.
T: Smooth, easy drinking for the style. Not aggressive at all. I was expecting a significantly bigger hop kick.
F: Very light on the tongue. Again surprising for a DIPA.
O: Just OK. Not offensive. I'd have another one, but this isn't a must try. I'm really looking forward to Hopslam delivery to my local store tomorrow. Now that's a real DIPA.

A - Pours a hazy burnt orange with a one-finger foamy white head. Lots of sticky lacing.

S - Aroma is grainy, biscuity malts, and light floral hops.

T - Taste starts off sweet with lots of caramel malts. When the sweetness fades the flavor is all floral hops. The finish has a lingering bitter aftertaste.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Mouthfeel is thin with a dry sticky finish.

O - This was a decent DIPA that drinks like an IPA. Not a bad brew by any means.

Tried one for the first time today. I live about 5 miles from the brewery.
628% for an Imperial IPA? Not on the bottle. Had to look it up.

Pours a light coppery color, small head that disappears quick but has a little lacing

Smells very malty with very little hops coming through. Grainy bready

Taste.. Malt up front grainy bready. bitterness mid taste but no real hop flavors.. maybe some floral and grassy hops.

Mouth .. under carbonated a bit dry and thin.. especially for an IMPERIAL IPA.

Very disappointed. My very first homebrew IPA was much more of an IPA than this..... Althoug I will say it is a drinkable beer, just not even close to what I would call an IPA or IMperial IPA

The look is nice. This brew is a deep, moderately hazed amber-orange, thick enough that it's closer to opaque than transparent, with a honey colored hue deep within. The head that develops reaches one head but doesn't stay there for long. What remains holds up for the rest of the time, and some strong spotting and patching are dropped.
The nose is surprisingly malt-forward. The sweetness one might expect, particularly balancing off a strong bitterness. This beer, though, seems to put the malts in the spotlight. There's some good flora and leaf to it, though not enough for the right kind of balance. Dough, caramel and honey are strong notes in here, and sweetness almost goes over the top with sugared apricot and oranges coming in.
Leafy in the bitterness with citrus pith as well, the flavors seem to start off confused before they meld somewhat more harmoniously with time. Malts give more dryness in the taste, too, along with the added sweetness, which emphasizes the discord before things come together. A bit of pepper gives it a little kick.
It's not really lively, attempting to achieve smoothness without any crispness and getting nowhere doing so. It ends up being pretty thin-bodied, but it does try to pick up a little toward the finish.
