Poured from a 12 oz. undated bottle: bright and clear copper with very little head. The ale was quite flat looking.
The aroma was sweet and spicy with just a hint of hops.
The ale begins with a slightly sour and malty flavor that is short-lived. There is a faint candy-like coating on the tongue that gives way to a very slight bitter hop flavor. There is a slight mineral afertaste.
The mouthfeel is slick and clean with some spritzy carbonation. The body is thin with few lingering flavors on the palate.
It does have some traits of an English pale ale but lacks the nuances and complexities generally found in that style. Overall, is refreshing and a break from the hop forward American pale ales.
