Poured an oily black hue with a half finger tan frothy head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a mildly sweet caramel, some dark fruit, dark chocolate and a touch of smoke.
The taste consisted of an touch of initial sweetness that soon gave way to a robust roasted grain, some coffee and a tasty chocolate.
The mouthfeel was full, yet pleasingly dry.
Overall a delicious and superior RIS. Extremely easy to drink with no trace of alcohol. The flavors are alive and well in this vintage stout. Thanks to warriorsoul for this gem.

I lucked out with this one. Had on tap at the Publick House a couple days after the EBF, which I (gasp) missed, sadly. I was told this was a leftover. Haven't had much Offshore beyond their amber and a few tastes at past festivals, so this was a nice treat to have a full serving of this stuff. And it's excellent.
Deep dark stoutly color, pretty much black. Excellent thick brown head on top. I love the way the Publick House serves lots of their beers in oversized wineglasses, they're great for most styles, and it seemed to enhance this beer quite well. Nice retention, all the way down. Smells soft, full of roasted barley, plenty of figs and prunes and such, and freshly baked cake or batter. No hint of alcohol anywhere. The taste just gets better. So soft due to the aging which really helps the flavors come out and say "hello, I'm delicious!" Lots of ripe fruit, dark cherries, more cake batter, silky cream, and almost a melted rubbery taste there which is hard to explain, but I've found it in only a few of the best stouts. Love it. The mouthfeel is incredibly smooth and I believe I mentioned this before but it's just so velvety soft. Amazing, especially for a draught beer. One of the best stouts I've ever had, I have to get out to that island someday. Until then, try to get it while it lasts at the Publick House, which won't be long. Really great stuff.

Nearly black in color, no light passes through.
The smell features a strong vanilla touch. Later in the tasting, I detected a bread-like aroma.
I like the balance between sweet and dry in the flavor profile--both are present and neither will dominate the other. This beer is full bodied and has a very high carbonation level.
This is an easily quaffable brew regardless of the potency. I could not detect the wood ageing--not to say that it's lacking flavor. On the contrary, there are unusual tastes that are superb to seek.
