Growler filled at the brewery.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a frothy 2" tan head over an almost opaque dark/brown brew. Head fades ever so slowly, and leaves lots of hunks of foamy lacing. Aroma is heavy on the dark malts, chocolate sweetness standing out. Taste is also chocolatey sweetness, with a light fruitiness popping up, and then a nice warming close. Mouthfeel is smooth as can be, with the malts lingering, and drinkability is very easy. Still like this one...

Recently drank on-tap at the brewpub with my lunch.

Poured an almost black in color. Maybe a half a shade towards brown and a slight glimmer o amber towards the extreme edges of the glass when held up to the light. Thin, filmy white head resting on top and the edges of the beer were covered in lattice lace. Nose was rather soothing with lots of toasted biscuits--kind of made me think of overcooked pancakes.

Nice and thick roasted malt flavor. Slightly sweet dark chocolate up front with a bit of bitterness towards the finish. The bitterness is less from the hops and moreso from the roasted coffee. Nicely balanced. Also has a very present wood smokiness to it--not overpowering. None of the flavors really took over and they all blended nicely. Medium body. A very nice porter in a blustery day to go with my New England clam chowder.

A very dark brown beer with deep mahogony highlights. Has a big foamy light brown head with good lace. There is a robust roasted malt aroma with a predominate chocolate character and a good coffee note in the background. A big roasted malt taste. Has a bittersweet chocolate start that slowly gets sweeter and finishes light and dry. The mouth feel is light and easy. I was quite taken with how easy this went down on a hot summer day.
