After Alewife and I did some gardening last Saturday, we laxed and enjoyed a growler of this tasty bier, courtesy of Matt from Offshore.
Poured a clear, medium copper color, with sparse though steady carbo heading topside. Head is white and initially no more than about 1/2", thinning rapidly to what amounts to a rim job. Lacing is still nice nonetheless. Aroma is a bit restrained, with light breadiness and mild florality emanating from the liquid. Body is a solid medium to medium-plus; very nice. Feel on the tongue is rather smooth, as the bier travels easily across the palate.
Flavor is replete with bready/toasty malt. A lovely, light level of sweetness, a good foundation to start with. Hops appear and are, like the aroma, pleasingly floral, along with a touch of grassiness. Hoppage lingers softly before dissappearing in the dryish finish. Quite a pleasurably tasty bier, and verry drinkable. Great job, Matt, and thanks once more.
Zum Wohl!!
