Dark copper in a tap poured 10 ounce very cold glass. Thick off white head that disappeared quickly. Taste at first was not very distinct. As the glass warmed in my hand the flavor of bready malts opened and went well with fish and chips

On-tap 9/24/2010 at Track 84 in Warwick, RI, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a dark reddish brown color, with a large dense off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains dark fruit, brown sugar, caramelized malts, some Belgian yeast and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of brown sugar, dark fruits and caramel followed by a bready Belgian yeast backbone and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is very mild but very complementary and creates a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
D: Very tasty, goes down dangerously easy, not too filling, strong kick, good representation of style, this is a very good darker Belgian style beer to drink for a very long time.
