Menemsha Pale Ale was picked up from Offshore Brewing September 2025. Poured from a 16oz can into a pub glass, this APA pours a cloudy rustic copper color. Small cm worth of white head on this glass and fantastic retention of lacing. Aroma has notes of pine and lemongrass, with some candied orange and malt. Flavor is sweet malt, with orange zest that is balanced with a dank earthy hemp oil. The hop bite is inviting and lingers on the palette. Mouthfeel is medium-light and carbonation is average for this style. Cheers!

A: light mahogany color with some yellow and copper notes. 1/2 finger white
S: sweet citrus and grains. Cardboard and butter
T: pretty generic sweet citrus and a little orange zest. Grains and some tea leaf bitterness. A touch of diactyl
M: medium with medium carbonation
O: pretty generic Pale Ale. A touch of butter in here which I gotta know it for

16 ounce can into IPA glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, toast, biscuit, light caramel, herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; balanced creamy/bready malts, and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Fairly crisp with a lasting resin drying finish, and minimal hop astringency. Very smooth, yet aggressive. Minimal warming 5.5%. This one really surprised me. Feels like a lot of Centennial and Citra, maybe Amarillo. Super juicy hops with a fair amount of dankness, and a balancing malt backbone. Not overly malty, feels more like an IPA, but I really loved the hop profile and juiciness. I just got it from the brewery a few weeks ago, so likely super fresh or well refrigerated.

Poured from the 22 oz. bomber into a Harpoon IPA glass.
a: Clear amber with a two inch tall white head which receded slowly to rocky surface foam and patterned lacing.
s; Mild pine.
t: Light fruit up front with a hop bite which grows in intensity after a few seconds. Bitterness lingers.
m; Light and crisp.
o; Bought this on sale, assumed it was rather aged, but the hop presence was pretty powerful. Not a whole lot of flavor though after the initial fruit. Bitterness grates a bit after awhile.

22 oz. bottle with no freshness date consumed on October 24, 2013.
A- After pouring it into my new Duvel Nymph tulip glass, a big, cream colored, uniformly foamy head formed. It lasted quite a while and left sparse lacing. Lively streams of carbonation can be seen rising from the center of the glass. Translucent, deep copper body with bright orange highlights.
S- Mostly sweet malted grains with a complimentary herbal, citrus fruit hops aroma.
T- Has a bit of that sweet, candied quality up front that is followed and balanced by the hoppy bitterness. The flavors play back and forth a bit with the bitterness winning out in the end, while still managing to not be overly bitter for a pale ale.
M- Mid to full bodied for the style. A little low on the carbonation, but not to a detriment. Pretty smooth and crisp with a nice dry finish.
O- Complex enough to keep it from becoming boring, but still easy enough to drink when your tired brain wants to take a break. A worthy pale ale, but I can't help but think it tastes better sitting at the Offshore brewpub bar on Martha's Vineyard watching the Yankees beat up on the Red Sox.
