Look - it's a brown ale. Meh. It poured with an uber fine bubbled head that seemed to take forever to drop enough to actually drink.
Smell- couldn't really smell anything
Taste-quite unexpectedly, there was some sour notes to it.
Feel - the sourness lingers on the back of the tongue but eventually gives way to a very subtle nuttiness.

Brown ale with fragrant sroma of nuts and maple. It hits you with the nutty slightly sweet taste up front with maple, caramel, burnt toffee notes and a hint of butterscotch finish. This is very smooth brew, the best craft brown ale I've had to date.

Draft at the source. Thick light tan head stayed throughout, with dramatic lacing. Good mouth feel. A very pleasant drink

Been a long time since I've had a nice nut brown, and a surprisingly cool night for the first time in a couple weeks. This brewery is fairly underated, and can made some decent beers.
Pours a smaller fizzy bubbly head that fades at a med to quick pace, little lacing falls quickly too, very dark brown mahogany color with very little light getting through.
Nose brings lots of sweet malts, candy like, toffee and nutty aromas all over, little touch of caramel and butterscotch candy like. Lots of toffee candy, nutty malts, toasted brown malts, almost a bit syrupy, and even a faint hint of cocoa.
Taste brings more sweetness, lots of candy, caramel, plenty of toffee and nutty flavors, quite nutty, lots of toffee candy, even a touch of butterscotch candy as well. Then some bitter earthy slight spicy hops come through, a little bitter hop note to balance. Plenty of toasted brown malts, a little syrupy. HOps turn a touch soapy on the back end which is a bit of a shame. Never would have guessed it was only 20 IBUs as the hops come out a bit more than they should. Finish is a bit sticky sweet, candy, toffee, syrupy, etc, nutty as well, a bit more bitter earthy hops.
Mouth is med bod, lighter but decent carb, touch syrupy.
Overall not bad, a bit sweeter than I expected, even for a nut brown, nice nutty and toffee flavors though, nice brown malts, hops come through nicely at first, but turn a little soapy like unfortunately. still fairly enjoyable beer, and pretty solid.

22 oz. bottle with not freshness date. Consumed on October 3, 2013.
A- Nice, light tan head recedes slowly leaving full lacing. The body is deep brown, mahogany almost resembling cola, and full of tiny carbonation.
S- nutty, malty, chocolatey, and there is some nostalgia for my Martha's Vineyard days in there too.
T- Flavor starts sweet and malty with the nutty and dark cocoa notes found in the aroma. Then it finishes with just enough bitterness to balance the brew provided by some subtle earthy hops. The balance definitely leans toward the malty side, but not too sweet or anything close to what I would describe as cloying.
M- Mid to full bodied. Really mellow and smooth. Not much of a hop bite, but it has just the right amount of small tingly carbonation.
O- Everything a malt forward American brown ale should be. Very easy drinking with no surprises. Not super exciting, but has all the comforting flavors one wants and expects in a malty brown ale. I would really enjoy pairing this with some fall comfort food like roasted squash, root vegetables, and chicken seasoned with cinnamon, allspice, and brown sugar.
