Pours into a half liter stein a hazed looking medium golden with a thinner white crown that is gone pretty quickly,I was hoping for a bigger crown and a more clear defined look.Clean aromas with a bit of toasted cereal grain and hint of honey.A thin watery feel takes away from any boldness that might show thru in this beer. Not much flavor to be had here, slightly bready with a minimal toasted element.A drain pour for me,not impressed at all.

Look:
Pours an intense golden/yellow color with moderate carbonation. The brew is only slightly hazy and had nearly a 2 finger head. Lacing continues after the head recedes (quite quickly too). Many bubbles flow up from below.

Smell:
Strong smell of mildly roasted malt, bread, biscuit, and yeast. There are notes of sour fruit (grape) as well.

Taste:
Only a slight hop bitterness initially, then a rich malty/bready flavor comes through that is mixed with white whine. It is sweet for a short period of time and then you get a dryer taste/feel while the taste moves towards biscuits and saltine crackers.

Feel:
Very light mouth feel. Seems a bit too thin, but doesn't appear to be watered down as it is still flavorful.

Overall:
It's ok. Very close to a Helles or some Kolsch beers that I have had. It just seemed a bit watery and flat. The flavor is decent though.

Aroma malt, grains, floral, straw, faint citrus & soapiness. Taste slightly sweet malt, faint acidity, herbal, cereal, & grass.

Excellent light straw color, very finely carbonated and producing at good thick, white head.

Light, crisp malt aroma, slightly sweet, subtle hop presence.

Crisp, clean taste. Light malt; biscuit like. Light hop bitterness rounds out the finish. Light and soft in body, finishes dry.

A decent yet unexciting lager. Hits the mark for the style. Goes well after an afternoon bicycle ride. Too bad I only have the one bottle, otherwise that one would quickly follow...

Poured from 500mL bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: nice golden color with tons of effervescence and just a touch of haze to the body. Head is one finger of frothy white foam. Not bad!

Smell: mild sweet malt aroma with a big dose of graininess. Actually not too bad, if a bit grainy for my taste.

Taste: lightly sweet malt with a pretty grainy character, as in the aroma. Noble hops are lightly discernible and there is a light but perceptible bitterness. Not bad, but again, as in the aroma, a bit too grainy for me.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a surprisingly good carbonation and creaminess. I like it!

Overall: a drinkable and tasty-enough lager, if not exactly to my taste.

Served in a wilibecher glass at 45º, Schweinsbräu Gold
is a new arrival to the market.

Color is a hazy golden bronze, creamy white foam layered on the surface. Foam rises to the lip of the glass and hangs there momentarily before settling to a thin veil, leaving behind a collar of irregular lacing.

Flinty aroma of mineral water and vague noble hop dry grassiness. Mild bready sweetness, something vaguely sulfuric from the lager yeast.

Flavor is simple and crisp, light honey cracker maltiness, vague dry bitterness in the aftertaste. Light to medium bodied for the style, with a touch of astringency present. Still it's easily quaffed and is better paired with food. Dry cured sausage and aged cheddar are perfect with this.

I poured this beer into my tumbler at 45 degrees. The beer was cloudy and straw colored. The beer poured a nice white head but it did not hang around long. The smell of this beer was terrible. Smelled sour but thank goodness it did not taste like it. Had to hold my nose to drink. Yeasty finish with grassy hints, no lacing at all. It was an OKAY beer, I guess I would try it again.

500ml returnable bottle. 08.09.2012. Technically it is a Riedenburger beer.

It pours a clear golden with a semi fizzy/foamy white head.

The smell is pretty fragrant. It isn't always that you get imports to smell this much. It has a lot of grassy noble hops, some honeylike malt, and more grain, bready malt. Pretty standard.

This is a typical Riedenburger beer in the flavor. Slight tartness, grainy, a lot of undefinable sweetness. Carbonation is nice. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the Spezial form Riedenburger just repackaged.

Overall just a really standard helles.
