Shared at the pub summer of 2011. Pour is dark brown to almost black with tight light tan head. The nose is hop forward, citrus and pine, viscous syrupy with notes of smoke. Taste is hoppy, light smoke, pine and citrus and a touch sugary. Light creamy body with clean finish.

Huge thanks to Umberto for opening during our epic drinking session at Goblin Pun in Pavullo del Frignano, Italy.
Pours a dark brown, almost black color with a one finger light beige head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind. I've read other reports of this beer being a gusher for that wasn't the case here. Properly carbonated with no oxidization.
Sligtly spicy aroma with sweet and roasted malt notes followed by dark fruit, bready yeast and licorice. Vinous with hints of raisin, plum and other dark berries which are nicely complimented by the licorice character. Somewhat roasted with hints of dark and sweeter chocolate as well as some caramel, toffee and toast.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation and a nice balance of vinous fruit, peppery spice, roasted malt and licorice. Slightly roasted up front with hints of toast, caramel, dark chocolate and toffee followed by vinous plum, fig and other dark berries. This is followed by some pepper and coriander character before finishing with a lingering licorice flavor. The licorice flavor becomes more prominent as it warms providing depth and complexity to the overall flavor.
