Orange, passionfruit, tangerine - tropical/citrus bomb. Bitterness is right on point for the style. Very surprised to see a 3.69 rating for this. I'm not a huge fan of Hazy's but this...this was tasty. Medium carbonation with a soft feel. I actually really wish I had a keg of this stuff. Super easy to drink. Honestly this baby is a mimosa lover's beer.

First all spelt beer I tried. Hops and passion fruit are in control of this, and the malt seems to be very neutral. Tangy finish, with hints of garlic, mango and passion fruit of course. Low bitterness.

Smell - pineapple
Appearance - pineapple colored opaque but translucent murk. Quarter inch of head that settles quickly, some residue. Looks like a NEIPA.
Taste - delicious smooth tropical fruit without the acid edge. I would not describe this as citrus - more like guava. Doesn’t seems entirely balanced with the quantity of hops - I would have used more.
Feel - slightly heavy but no surprize since its all spelt.

Bought this since it’s a collaboration between two locals who i like a lot, plus hops varieties that are new to me. Glad I bought a 4pak but I don’t think I’d buy it again.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a murky yellow with lots of white head. Nose is potato, resin, leather, and a bit of citrus peel. Nose is really interesting. Some refreshing citrus coupled with potato, lactose, pine, carrots, apple, and wheat. Mouthfeel is a bit dry, but overall a really interesting IPA.

My first question… hell, my only question to this beer is, “What did I do to you to deserve this?” I mean, this beer tastes like it was funneled through a skunks bunghole. It’s nasty, it’s offputting, and it’s ugly to look at. A turgid, yellow haze in color is met by skunk on the nose like Pepe Le Pew came over for dinner. To say I am not feeling this beer is an understatement. It’s nasty, putrid and revolting all in one.

Brouwerij West, I often love you, but this is trash.

hit this one out of the park! this is a truly satisfying high end NEIPA from a west coast brewer who has been attempting to create something of this caliber with medium success a while now. tangerine Sunny-D with a slight fizzy carbonation and very refreshing! i dont understand the 3.8 average on Untappd after 114 reviews. for me, this is AMAZING stuff! here is their introduction:

Utilizing 100% Spelt, a grain recipe normally resulting in a stuck mash, our mash filter was able to process through a base beer reminiscent of pineapple sweet bread. We then fermented out a heaping addition of tangerine and passion fruit before hop gunning a massive amount of Moutere and Strata hops. The result is a silky smooth treat for your tongue, laden with flavors of bright citrus, tart tangerine, and tropical prickliness that dance delicately across your palate. At 6% abv, this beer is a crushable delicacy of which a single serving will not suffice.

cheers! i hope this wasnt a 'single-batch' got-lucky shining star.... somebody on the west coast nailed it!
