Brouwerij West with that weird can art again... Is "Hollywood Acid" a reference to something?
Pours a beautiful peach nectar body, completely opaque, with an eggshell white head that persists beautifully, eventually settling to a thin film and leaving nice lacing bands across the glass.
Smells delicious, inciting notes of pineapple, tangerine, mango, passion fruit, golden apples, Bartlett pears and honeydew. A grassy hop presence lingers in the background with hints of honey and oatmeal.
Tastes almost as good as it smells. A little underwhelming, actually. Nice light alcohol presence, with a faint numbing herbal minty presence, but the fruit comes across very light on the palate, like watered-down orange, mango and pineapple juice. Raw spelt and oats keep it rich and creamy enough to forgive this.
The feel is quite nice too. Smooth and full-bodied, but light and crisp, with a clean bitter finish that doesn't linger too long. Nice tartness on the end too.
I agree with Raul, BW's been making some janky IPAs lately, but this one is good. I think it's great. Not as good as Tahiti Substation, but pretty great. Dog Ate My Homework is still their best brew, in my opinion. Cheers!

Been pretty tired of the lackluster stuff coming out of Brouwerij West lately, so I took a break from them like when Ross stopped porking Rachel. That being said, I’m glad that I hopped back on the B-Dubs train because with this one, it’s actually an ok ride.
It’s very typical Brouwerij West. Hazy, pithy, dead grass-ish... but here, there is a very pleasing tropical flavor along with a fairly pleasant and lush backbone. It’s not world class, or even great. Simply put, I’m just glad it’s not repulsive like some Brouwerij West offerings are. Good for them, but I’ve still given up on them being a great brewery.
