Cask at Churchill's on the last day of San Diego Beer Week. I can't say I'm sad to see it go. Tulip.

A: Dark brown with a subtle ruby tinge. The head is an inch of fleeting beige foam.

S: Dark grape blends with plum and a light spiciness. Chocolate is faint and there's a mild tartness.

T: Man, this one also tastes like cough syrup. I was cautiously optimistic it would have no such flavor. There's a good deal of cherry with a light sourness and evident acetone. Oak is apparent and I think I get some cognac. Alcohol is somewhat harsh in the finish. This is actually worse than the regular version, which is surprising.

M: Upper medium body with upper low carbonation. The mouthfeel is sticky and smooth.

Overall: I guess they couldn't cask condition the cough syrup out of this one. I didn't finish my four ounce pour. Avoid.
