Purchased at a BWS in Launceston. Well presented - it is wrapped up in red paper like some belgian beers. Apparently only 2500 of these beers were brewed. This is no 807. 330ml bottle poured into tulip glass
L - Hazy brown, pours a thin 3mm thick beige head that doesn't go anywhere.
S - caramel malt dominates the aroma, but there is a hint of berries, forest leaf litter and wood in the background.
T - mixture of all things at first, with a acetic sourness building towards the middle, also some red berries and cherry notes as well. As it finishes, caramel and toasted malts come to the fore, like an english bitter or old ale, with a hint of red wine liuke booziness.
F - fuller bodied than expected, well carbonated (almost to the point of being like a sparkling wine).
O - interesting style - like a mix between a sour ale and english bitter. The fruity flavours aren't overpowering, neither is the sourness. Well worth a try.
