Poured from a 12 oz can bought in San Antonio.
Gold color with a bit of orange; very clear. Weak white head. Aroma has a balance of sweet, bready malt and fresh pine and citrus hops. The nose is more like an American pale ale than IPA to me. Flavors emphasize hops more than malt, They start out citrusy, but later in the palate the flavors turn a bit more sharp and soap-like. Green onion in the finish. Medium body and high carbonation. Strong hops bitterness is almost astringent. Minor alcohol warmth. This is a decent IPA, but the finish is a bit harsh and unrefined,

Sky Trooper from Ranger Creek. On room temperature shelf at Total Wine, Selma, TX. $2.15 (Including tax)/12 oz can ($ 0.180/oz). Stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 7/6/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “ST BATCH 22 02/03/21”. Served at 46 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 49.8 degrees.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), hazy.
Body – Deep Gold (SRM 6), murky and translucent. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Average (Maximum 3.5 cm, aggressive center pour), floral white, medium density, rapidly diminishing to low-density froth leaving a ragged eight to thirteen mm crown, a rocky partial cap, and a few tiny frothy islands as the head retracts.
Lacing – Good. Wide three-dimensional band of tiny to small bubbles.
Aroma – 3.5 – Pineapple - no malt, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Begins moderately bitter with light pineapple and malt flavors, no yeast, and no ethanol (6.5 % ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Ends with bitter malt.
Palate – 4 – Medium, creamy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Overall, a decent IPA with more malt than expected. Earlier reviewers have noted over-carbonation as a problem – this has been corrected. Can says SRM 10 but it seems lighter to my uncalibrated eye.

From a can produced 5/29/20. Orange color with a finger of white head. Bright citrus smell with a little pine in the background. Medium body, high carbonation. Toasted malt flavors with piney hops. Good, maybe a little over-carbonated.

L - Dark orange with 4 fingers of thick bubbly white head that sticks around a LONG TIME. Hate to say it but this is the best part of the beer.
S - hops and sweet pine.
T - bitter pine, how does that work?
F - way over carb’d. Hard to drink without LONG breaks between sips.
O - not enjoyable. won’t buy again.
