Hodgson is another great ale from New Zealand veteran brewer Ben Middlemiss. Christened after the London brewer George Hodgson, this hearty "India Pale Ale" hearkens back to the 1700s when ales were highly hopped to be shipped unrefrigerated to the colonies. NB: hearken means to pay heed and indeed you should, as the uplifting NZ Motueka and Kohatu hops in this modern iteration of a classic style will fill your sails and transport you too!
This bottle conditioned ale will develop for 4-5 years if kept under ideal cellar conditions. Store in an upright position and keep away from light. Do not store in the refrigerator. Serve at 10-12 °C (50-55°F). Decant into a glass large enough to accomodate the bottle in one smooth pour.
