Terrapin Monk's Revenge: From notes 7/5/12: Pours a clear orange gold with 2 fingers of billowy white, frothy, soap bubbly head that has nice retention but leaves only a thin etching of lace. Aroma is Belgian yeast, bread, some lemon, grass and a hint of sour. Taste mirrors the nose with the addition of biscuit and caramel malt, a mild, pleasant hop bitterness and a slight peppery prickle in the finish. Aftertaste is bittersweet and lingering.

Sample at Max's on 7/23/14 (from notes)
A: Hazy amber copper.
S: Sour/tart fruit. Weird. Belgian esters.
T: Sweet, with what seemed like a slight tartness but more of a weird twang. No hops and all Belgian.
M: Slight coarseness like the rough side of a sponge.
O: Different. I was surprised to read it was an IPA, but I can definitely tell it was a wine barrel of some sort.
