Pours a nice orange color, smell is ordinary, up front spice in my opinion is too much. Malt backbone was not enough for the spicy potpourri cacophony of hops. This review makes it sound worse than it is, it became more drinkable as it warmed up this is just not the kind of fresh hop taste that I prefer.

Pours an orangey amber with good bubbly head that holds well. Thick collar and thin head persist. Great lacing, good legs. Aroma is of tropical fruit (think apricot and passion fruit or mango), floral and grassy with faint wet earth. Taste follows aroma and pretty much in the same order; a little more on the floral and grassy sweetness. Light and slightly silty mouthfeel. Low to med carb.

2014 bottle brought back from Tampa, FL. Best by March 2015.
A- 22oz bomber pours a fairly murky dark orange-amber bodied ale into my teku glass. A frothy white head builds to right under a finger with sub-par retention. Bubbly, creamy belt around the beer leaves ample webs of lacing.
S- For me it is close to equal hops and malts with the edge given slightly to the former. Heavy citrus fruits, pine and floral tones lead to crackery, pale caramel and bready malts.
T- As in the aroma, I find the beer to be balanced between the Simcoe fresh hops and grainy malts. Citrus is the most prominent flavor in the beer with oranges notes followed by grapefruit and general zest. Beyond that are notes of medium caramelized sugar, bread, cracker, pine, floral and slight stone fruits.
MF- Light to medium overall thickness with a texture between foamy and creamy. The carbonation level is moderately high and it ends fairly bitter.
More of a balanced IPA for me with plenty of malt character underneath the hops. That is not necessarily a problem but for me the two don't play amazingly well together. Solid no doubt but not up to the high standards of the style.

Aroma of pine, resin, citrus, malt, earthy, dank. Taste sweet malt, light resin, pine & citrus zest; thin body.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into an Spiegelau IPA glass, bottled on 3/29/2014 (oops!)
L - Nice amber color, slightly hazy, large white foamy head which stuck around and provided good lacing.
S - Strong hop aroma, citrusy.
T - Age did not treat this one well. Comes off basically like hop flavored water, no bit which is to be expected with this age on it.
F - Lack of hop bite really kills this one and makes it feel extra thin.
O - Sad that this one got pushed back to the back of the fridge, had potential to be a real good fresh hopped IPA.

On tap at Das Biergarten. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance - Hazy orange body. Big white head. Soapy looking.
Smell - Grassy. Piney. Kinda dank. Some cracker malt.
Taste - Same grassy and piney hop. Some pale malt sweetness with a toasty malt flavor behind it. Moderately bitter finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium body. Drank it pretty easily.
Overall - Just shy of something I'd order again.
