"Terrapin's 'So Fresh and So Green, Green' is a beer that celebrates the hop! Made with freshly picked, whole leaf, 'wet' hops, these off-the-vine beauties will encourage you to drink fresh, drink local, and drink now." Brewed in the style of an American IPA with fresh hops, available in 19.2 oz. cans and on annual limited draft. An annual fresh hopped release with new fresh hop selections each year. This year's release is the first in cans and features Equinox hops.
Poured from a 19.2 oz. can to a tulip glass.
(Appearance) Pours a foamy frothy head of a golden-white tone over a mildly hazy amber body with ample, abundant carbonation. Retention is very good and lacing is light and patchy. 3.75
(Smell) Wet pine resins, citrus peels and tropical fruits forward with a moderate bitterness, atop a smooth lightly toasted caramel syrup body. Potency is moderate. 3.75
(Taste) Tropical fruit, pine and light citrus, a lightly sweet biscuit malt body with a touch of caramel body. Slightly less developed hop flavor, although it is a nice malt to hop bitterness balance. 3.5
(Mouthfeel) Texture is slick, moderately oily and residual, medium dry. Carbonation is modest, generating a mild frothiness and a moderately crisp finish. Body is medium for the style and medium overall. Balance is nearly even bitter to sweet. Alcohol presence is low and there are no off characters. 3.5
(Overall) I didn't get an incredible burst of hop flavor from this year's release, but it was well balanced and not much of a malt bomb. I'm always considering the impact (or lack thereof) that a wet hop choice may make on a beer's overall flavor, so perhaps Equinox wasn't the best for a hop-centric ale, but I thought the beer was enjoyable, if not outstanding. 3.5

Pours a clear orangish golden color with white head. Fruity, light fruits, pineapple, citrus, mango, and light grassy notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with more light fruits. Nice and fruity fresh hopped IPA.
