Lucille is an Imperial Stout brewed with blackstrap molasses and vanilla. Swinging for the fences, we aged this beer on hickory, maple, and white ash, the three woods that are used to produce baseball bats. Big and menacing, its flavors hit hard.

Solid beer. Not great but certainly very drinkable.

A: Black, opaque, thick khaki head,
S: Molasses, brown sugar, coffee
T: Molasses, coffee, chocolate, vanilla
M: Medium
O: Really good stout, has a distinctive stout flavor. Hides the ABV well. The molasses comes through well and makes for an excellent flavor.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a finger of dense tan head which fades slowly and leaves decent lacing
S: Smells of chocolate and coffee with a hint of molasses and vanilla and some nice woody notes
T: Taste is a little woody up front withe some milk chocolate and roasted malts, molasses, light notes of coffee and a little charred wood as well as a hint of vanilla. Swallow is tannic and a little woody with some lingering molasses, roasted malts, black coffee and bitter dark chocolate.
M: This beer is on the heavier side of medium with a slightly silky mouthfeel. Carbonation is on the lower side but adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a pretty interesting beer. It has good flavors and some nice complexity but the wood addition may come off in an unpleasant way since the wood comes across a little green and tannic. It's an interesting concept that may be worth visiting if you're looking for something different but I don't think it's worth revisiting.

Pours very dark with light foamy head. If molasses aroma, some chocolate and vanilla notes. Flavor is a bit light - lots of roasted malts, lots of coffee flavor. Very bitter espresso finish.? Medium bodied, a bit thin for the style and abv. Not my favorite.

500ml bottle. Appearance: Typical opaque black imperial stout with a low lying khaki head. Aroma: Light roasted maltiness with a touch of wordiness Taste: Rich malt sweetness and roast with a hint of smoked wood. Slight touch of molasses. Bitterness just enough to balance Mouthfeel: Lighter bodied than typical for the style, with a low carbonation Finish: Lingering roasted maltiness and a surprising amount of bitterness Overall: A fairly straightforward imperial stout that’s one dimensional with roasted malt aroma and flavor. The molasses and vanilla are mostly absent, but could be due to age on the beer, which is close to a year old

From the bottle, it pours a very dark brown, almost black with a modest head soon diminishing to a ring. Some alcohol and black malt in the nose. The mouth gets a molasses flavor along, alcohol and malty goodness.
