From a Terrapin mixed 12 pack. A malt forward IPA. Old school in manny ways, but nothing distinguishing.
T - Bready malt with a herbal and resiny hop flavor.

The pour is yellow. The taste is mild hops, white cracker, slight herbal, & slight lemon note. All in all, it's not as good as I expected it to be because of the well written & alluring advertisement on the box. Cheers! B-

Gold to light copper colored with excellent clarity and an inch of tightly and densely packed beige on top. The head quickly dissipated to a fingernail covering the top. The aroma is of earthy hops. I’m tasting earthy hops along with crackery light malt. The mouth is faintly sticky and dry.

I have to say, the first of these I drank was very disappointing. So was the second. This last one (first of the day) is better. I warmed it up a bit, and that helped a lot. I did that with the Recreation Ale from this brewer with the same result.
It pours translucent and yellow. No haze. Also, not a ton of fizz. The aroma is slightly skunky but faint. Not too offensive and enough to feel like a real IPA of some kind. The taste is very clean and balanced and the whole thing sits easily in your mouth - you could drink a bunch of these and not feel overly beer beaten. It's well made, but just too wimpy.
Not recommended. You will probably be disappointed like I was. The Terrapin Survival Kit was not what I had hoped. It looks like their parent company has pushed them to put this out as a mostly lame product.

Two 12 oz. cans have been emptied into a clear glass liter mug and bring a surprise. The ale is way beyond pale, it's as translucent as most mass produced lagers. What color is there is a bright and golden amber. There is a little more head, of the white and sticky variety, than one of those other things. Maybe this won't be so bad. Worries again build, as this has no pronounced aroma. It has just enough hoppiness to put it in the ale category by taste. Sorry, but the glass lacing also disappoints. There is some redemption by the taste. Nowhere near the tastefest as a good IPA; nonetheless, this does have some good APA qualities. Even without a bold malt backbone, the body is supple and the lack of a heavy dose of sweetness helps make this work. Without it, the hops do get their chance to entertain the taste buds and they mostly come through. Those hops bring bitterness, in a light-handed way and compensate for the other shortcomings. As a clean and refreshing hop separation concludes, the thought "this really wasn't so bad" crosses the mind.

Appearance: Pours a relatively clear, pale yellow body with a thinnish, wispy, white head.
Smell: A hoppy aroma, though far from the "huge amounts of hop flavor and aroma" purported by the can's info blurb. A blend of citrusy hints with powderized pith and a bit of pepperesque spice. All atop a very modest maltiness akin to waterlogged (sans salt) saltines.
Taste: Fairly subtle, subdued malt profile. A little, light crackery character, that's really it. Citusy, lemon-orange pop with some subdued spiciness and a light tropical backing. Relatively light bitterness. Drying finish with a modest fruitiness and a low level of dankness (which feels weird referring to a low level of dankness as dank -- let's go with dinkness instead) holding through into the aftertaste with a hint of ground aspirin.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Though not bad, it's not a particularly memorable or noteworthy beer whatsoever. A beer you'll try "new" in a year's time with the same results and likely be surprised you already logged a hohum review.
