A very unique twist on a classic Belgian Dubbel.

Aged in OYO Whiskey Barrels (which itself is a very good spirit)

Pours out a mahogany with a tinge of ruby around the edges.

You get all the dark fruit smells on the nose from the base dubbel, but it is then contrasted with the sharp cherry and whiskey notes from the cask.

Upon tasting, the cherry/whiskey flavor is very pronounced, it is the first wave that hits you. On the finish though it begins to round out with the deeper, more smooth traditional brown sugar/yeasty dubbel notes.

Excellent beer overall, it is great to see Rockmill start to expand their horizons off their base portfolio.
