Frankfurter Brauhaus - Prost! Export
500ml can, €,28 @ Kaufland, Goerzallee 195, 14167 Berlin, Germany
"5.3%vol Extra Stark Gebraut"
Appearance: Clear. Deep gold body. Bright white head. Average head retention. Fair lacing.
Smell: Some hops, some malt - very basic.
Taste: Some very nice floral & spicy hops appear right up front and then soften, eventually lingering quite nicely (you can clearly distinguish them) in a long finish. Its median maltiness is neither distinct nor dull. Clean and well made with a good balance. No faults (no yeasty sulphur is present either, which might have given it at least a little bit more character).
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, median carbonation - fairly smooth but missing a little bit of crispness.
Overall: A decent beer given the price, but nothing spectacular. It's a good interpretation of the Dortmunder style, but it lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.
