A strong brew for the budget minded shopper. On trip down the lanes of your local Aldi, your eye may be caught on the minimalist mountains or the striking eyes of a regal ram. The can gives an understated and yet purposeful impression: I’m here to be drank, I’m here for your good time.
Find the can buried under your luggage, bedding and meal for the night. Twist in and turn in the train pod, much the same way the hops were left to ferment to bring you the Winterbock. Through struggle we come to understand many things, and the first pass of this brew over your lips reminds you of what it took to make this journey.
A light and playful mouthfeel, the beverage almost seems to invent head to fill the mouth. It’s an overall pleasant sensation, and yet I worry that it’s an act of anxiety, not love. At 7.0% this brew is boasting a full chest that it may not have the pedigree to cover through flavorful notes alone. Thus, it must distract the drinker through pageantry.
What flavors you do get aren’t strong, yet there’s almost a subtle spiciness that dances around over your tongue and encourages you to go back to the Winterbock again and again.
