So I have visited this establishment a couple of times now and the vibe changes a bit from visit to visit. This place has mostly a feel of a sports bar but on at least one of the occasions there was very loud dance music playing over the top of the TV sound - it was so loud that you could not even carry on a conversation. There is the bar area, two indoor dinner areas, and an outdoor area in front of the restaurant. The clientele is young - mostly 20s and very early 30s.
Beers are all served in pint glasses regardless of style and often the pint glass is chilled or frosted - not my preference for having my beers served. In general, the beers have tasted fresh.
It can get very busy in this establishment, yet somehow the waitstaff and bartenders seem to stay very friendly, polite, and attentive. The servers have some beer knowledge but not a huge depth of knowledge (obviously some are more knowledgeable than others). Service is a little above average.
From a selection perspective, it is mostly major brand beers and standard craft beer selections for the area. There are usually a couple of interesting seasonal bottles, otherwise this would not be the place to go to find the best selection.
The food here is good pub fare - probably the best wings that I have personally had in Hoboken and everything else I have tried has been enjoyable. I actually more often think of this as a food destination that has decent beer than vice versa.
Some of the specials are really good deals - like $14 for a bucket of wings and a pitcher of beer. Otherwise the regular menu prices are pretty reasonable for the area.
