I tried this recently by chance. The bottle was generic except the cap had "Abbey Ale" on it. It was not so good. It wasn't carbonated so there could have been some residual sugars laying around throwing it off. It looked fine; pale, fairly clear with no head due to lack of carbonation. The taste was weird. It was not estery as I would have suspected from something called Abbey Ale. It was quite malty and too sweet. There was some weird flavors there, maybe cardboard, and no hops to speak of. If I had the whole bottle it would have been a drain pour. As it was I dumped that last bit I had in my glass. I wasn't going to waste my time with it when there was good beer around to drink.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
