Belgian yeast provides a spicy backbone to the rich cognac and oak flavours of dark fruit, caramel, vanilla and toasted bread. It pours a dark gold, meant to show off the cognac it contains. While it is a higher proof beer, the heat from the alcohol is in perfect step with its complex flavour profile and light sweetness on the palate.

Poured from just under fridge temp into a hotel room glass. Pours a nice dark brown with small amount of white head. Nose is caramel, Belgian yeast, grain, cognac, grass, wood, earth, and some figs. Taste is really nice and smooth. Not overly sweet upfront - a nice creamy toffee mouthfeel and taste. Definitely picking up some big dark fruit notes on the taste. The cognac is evident, as is the oak. Really nice flavors. Mouthfeel is creamy and right where it should be. Overall, this is a fantastic quad with a nice touch of cognac.

Lighthouse Brewing 'Depth Charge'17 @ 9.0% , this years version a Belgian Quad served from a 750 ml corked bottle
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a clear amber in the glass with a small beige head leaving a dissapating lace ring along the goblet
S-cognac
T-wow , big , (needs time in the cellar to mellow)
MF-ok carbonation , big full bodied
Ov-let's revisit in a couple of years , shall we
