Bought a tall can at private Van. beer outlet for $4. Packaged Nov 17.20...so 4 months old, under refrig. conditions. Based on the label, I purchased what I expected to be slightly malty variant of a West Coast IPA.

Pours a clean, brassy red / amber. Generous, tall, creamy, tan-coloured head dissipates to a skim.
Aroma is slight, and more malty than hoppy.
Taste is malt-forward, sweet, very slightly astringent.
Sticky, syrupy aftertaste, minor dryness. No lingering 'booziness'.

This is FAR more an amber ale than any sort of IPA.
It is malt-driven with disappointingly little hop character coming through.
The notes provided on this page allege Idaho7 and Simcoe hops are present. If correct, it's a very inefficient use / conversion of 2 typically very tasty hop varieties.
So my rating is as a disappointing, hop-lacking IPA. As an amber ale, I would rate it higher, on the strength of the tastiness of the darker (chocolate/caramel?) malts.

Last point. This is a limited release, one-batch beer. Mine is the very first review...in 4 months !?? Wow.
