Lacking logic, caution or restraint, Numbskull is a hard hitting and intense Double IPA . To discover the most exceptional flavours, each new rotator is an experiment in hop-lunacy. Our 11th expedition discovers a whole orchard of flavour from the addition of the Rakau hop. Originating in New Zealand , this hop variety imparts an abundance of stone fruit notes , such as apricot , plum , mango and pear , finishing with refreshing hints of pine and lime.

Rakau hop version - Rotator #11.
Pours a clear pale bright copper colour with scant half finger of fine white head.
Nose cold is a little muted but as warms tropical notes up front - pineapple, mango - a touch floral, earthy, and piney with caramel malt aroma in back.
Tastes of sweet caramel malt with pineapple, mango; resinous pine with floral and earthy bitterness. Backend boozy heat without detracting.
Full mouthfeel - smooth - decent carbonation with a nice bittersweet balance.

Lighthouse Brewing 'Numbskull Rakau' @ 9.1% , served from a 650 ml bottle (11th Rotator edition)
A-pour is gold from the bottle to a dark gold in the glass with a medium size off-white head leaving a spotty lace along the Spiegelau
S-Rakau hops gives off an intense aroma of pine resin
T-decent malt base , lots of Rakau hops helps the dry finish
MF-ok carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-another interesting/good addition to the Numbskull rotation of beers
