Shipwrecked Triple IPA is a strong beer brewed in small batches using twice the regular kettle time, double the Pale Malt and triple the hops of a regular IPA. The unique combination of Simpsons Marris Otter malt and Amarillo, Columbus, and Perle hops create a rich malt character with pine, spruce and citrus notes. Two months of conditioning and dry hopping have created this amazingly drinkable Triple IPA that is sure to please the true IPA aficionado.

Appearance. Pours a deep amber with a little haze. One finger of white head that lasts a minute leaving a little chunky lacing.
Smell. Caramel malt with a little honey followed by mandarin oranges, lemon candy and herbal hoppyness.
Taste. Malty and a little sweet. Bitter, herby hops and lemon peel quickly take over. Alcohol present, but not unbearable.
Mouthfeel. A little thin with some alcohol warming. Medium, prickly carbonation.
Drinkability. An okay drinker. The (slight) sweetness and alcohol taste/feel are holding things up a little.

Bottle: Poured a clear medium amber color ale with a large frothy head with good retention and some very lacing. Aroma of bittering hops with light floral notes. Taste is also a mix between a non-descript malt base with some clear definitive bittering hops and some light floral notes. Body is about average with medium carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not as hoppy as I would have expected from the triple hops description on the label.

A: Copper-bronze with an off-white head, very thin ring of retention, no lace.
S: Pine, citrus rind and herbal hops. Sponge toffee, caramel, candied pineapple and plenty of alcohol. Not as much hop aroma as most DIPA's.
T: There's the American hop flavour, but it's not overly intense, and it's mixed with a minty, herbal quality. Plenty of sponge toffee and light caramel, hints of biscuity malt, good bitterness, plenty of alcohol warmth. A bit like a dried out English Barley wine, with some american hops.
M: Considering the strength, this is fairly well-attenuated, with a drying alcohol finish.
D: A decent drinker for its weight!
I'm sort of reviewing by 'style', and this one doesn't exude hops like some... but it's a really well-crafted brew. Perhaps more of a Triple Pale?

I agree about the amped up British IPA feel which considering the profile of their regular IPA makes sense. This is a very nice DIPA that has plenty complexity but drinks smooth for the high ABV. Not amazing but a great step forward for a brewer that was becoming quite conservative in their porfolio

Copper colour with a thick cream-coloured head. Bright, rich hop scent with a creamy, thick malt presence. Citrusy, grassy and a certain English profile to scent; this comes through in the taste too. Almost like an amped-up English IPA (okay, yes, I guess that would make it an American-style IPA. :) ). Very faint alcohol burn, and a sweet-and-sour finish.
Nice carbonation - fizzy without being carbonated and smooth without being oily. Even with a 10% ABV, this is a nice beer to sit back and enjoy.

Shipwrecked Triple IPA pours a bright deep copper, with a decent head. The aroma is grassy, herbal and minty hops with some nice toffee malt notes coming through. Bitterness punches through at first in the flavor, with more herbal, earthy and grassy hops. Some citrus as well, but not nearly as much as expected. The sweet toffee and caramel malt flavor comes through with a solid, but relatively balanced bitterness. The bitterness lingers in the finish, with a dry, slightly resinous character.
Overall this is a solid DIPA, with a lean towards British hop character, similar to Stone's Emperial IPA.
