650ml bottle poured into tulip 17/8/13
A hazed bright yellow with a few streams of tiny bubbles streaming up the side, just a finger of foam but its dense and long lasting, three rings of foam followed by some random patches
S apple juice, canned pineapple, wheaty cereal, faint spruce and a little perfume, I get more tropical notes but I can't quite place it, a little spice as it warms
T more of the same really, the kiwi hops shine and the wheat's there but not a focal point, some lemon rind I didn't smell
M light for the strength and well carbonated almost to the point of foam, quite gritty and a mild bitter snap and a little soapy thrills gum on the finish
O smell and taste could've gone higher so slightly inflated overall, light bodied with tropical kiwi hops, the 8% is well concealed and I downed the whole bomber with no problems
I rather liked this one and considering it was a random beer I've never heard of I'm quite happy with my 5$ bottle

Lighthouse Brewing's 'Barnacle Wheat IPA' @ 8.0% , served from a 650 ml bottle puchased for $5.60
A-pour is a pale clean gold from the bottle to glass (with no wheat hazyness ... hmm) with a small off white head leaving a minimal lace ring along the stein
S-more pine than citrus to the nose
T-not a standard PNW IPA , very clean & crisp tasting , mild bitter finish
MF-low/mild carbonation , medium to full bodied , not as bitter on the palate as
some PNW IPA's
Ov-ok beer , not the wow factor that I'm looking for in a local IPA , certainly not in the league of Driftwood-Fat Tug as the label might want you to beleive

22oz bomber, split in hotel glassware in Vancouver
Quite light bodied - definitely a "white IPA" - healthy white foam. Aromas are strong on the grassy notes and citrus compliments. The flavors surprisingly clashed pretty significantly for me - far too bitter, stale grass, citrus peel. Just needs to be toned down - the style should be bright and layered not bitter and aggressive. Didn't enjoy this.

On the money for the style , super drinkable for the ABV, citrus and wheat notes combined with the hops but wrapped up in a smooth balanced beer that may be the best White IPA in BC.
The perfect big beer for the summer. This is a brewery that continues to impress/

Poured from a 650ml bottle. The label looks like it's taking a shot at Driftwood's Fat Tug IPA. It pours a striking bright yellow colour. The nose is full of musty, funky hop notes like melon skin, pineapple and exotic tropical fruits. The taste is similarly bold and fruity with a huge hit of bitterness on the finish. Definitely one for the hopheads.
