Average appearance for an on-tap brew, careful pours often leave little head, as in this case. Not really gonna knock it as I do enjoy a full glass of beer. Very dark, almost solid black except for a little tinge of dark red/brown on the edges.
Aroma and flavor are pretty bold and forward for the style, bitter with plenty of roasted, toasted, coffee, chocolate, and a smidge of burnt. The name seems to be fitting, as I've brewed a lot with fuggles, and that earthy, complex yet subtle hops flavors are there in spades.
Body is pretty full and smooth, with a slick, bitter and roasted finish. Real nice.

Beer pours pitch black with a rocky brown head that is easily revived with a gentle swirl of the glass.
Aroma is of roasted coffee and chocolate, burnt toast predominates the aroma. Very few esters are present an no hop aromas.
The taste of the beer is a mixture of dark roasted coffee and chocolate with a burnt and bitter finish, like black coffee. Maybe the finish is coming from the malts but it could also come from the large amount of hops incorporated in the beer. The beer has a nice toasty flavor too that makes it seem very filling.
Smooth and full mouthfeel.
Overall a very solid porter. A good example of the style but does not necessarily stand out as the best porter I have ever had. A good session porter, although it is filling.
