Presentation: 12oz brown bottle. No freshness date. Hand bottled.
Appearance: Cloudy stain brown with a really nice, creamy, frothy off-white head with some stick and staying power.
Smell: Pale and toasted malts, caramel, light chocolate and a faint floral bouquet.
Taste: A smooth brew. Creamy with a light to medium body. Malt sweetness is subdued, not too sweet. Malt flavours range from light roasted, caramel, chocolate, earth and fruit flavours, like plum and grape. The beer then goes tangy with a semi-astringent bitter flavour with raisin/prune in the back. Slightly dry, with a clean finish, some grain.
Notes: I expected a bit more from the malt, but all-in-all this is a very enjoyable beer. I liked it.
