Truth in advertising, it is sour. I believe this was the version the brewers added lactobacillus to make sure it was good and sour. It is also brewed with raspberries, which also come through, along with a surprising malty sweetness.
The stuff is quite bitter and fiercely alcoholic at the same time. It's quite a mouthful that the sour enthusiast will want to try, especially with the big fruit taste. From the 16 oz can purchased at the North Sound tasting room. Color is near black with plenty of beige foam swirling in the Ciney snifter.
