I usually have the Bourbon barrel aged version, which seems to be a staple at the tasting room. But the regular 101 is now in 16 oz cans so I picked one up to try later. It's clear amber with plenty of white foam in the Ciney snifter. Huge blast of hops, more on the piney side, with a little tangerine.
Flavor is either "robust" or "harsh" depending on your delicate sensitivities. Moderately sweet and seriously bitter. Some fruit in the flavor, orange marmalade with a grapefruit peel finish. Massive alcohol is also in your face with every sip. Definitely one for the rawhiding hop buckaroo.

North Sound also does a Bourbon barrel version that is awesome.

on-tap at the brewery
10oz pour - bright golden orange body, creamy white crest. Dry hopped to the max - sticky graperfruit, pine resin, orange zest, tropical fruit, cracker malt. Not getting much of the advertised apple, but this was good - would definitely order upon sight in Seattle
