On-cask 2/7/2016 at Doherty’s East Ave Irish Pub in Pawtucket, RI, served in a tapered pint glass.
A: The beer is a very murky dark amber color, with a large dense off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains melon and citrus fruits, caramelized malts and some hops.
T: The taste starts out creamy and very sweet with strong flavors of melon, caramel and citrus fruits. Then a very subdued hops bitterness creeps in and strengthens as you continue to drink the beer. The malt character is hearty and brings some balance. The after-taste is sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, light-to-medium carbonation, finish is sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while.
