Bottle brought home from Italy. Strong dark beer made with truffles, decided spiced beer is the best category for this one.
Pours a cloudy brown color with a faint white head.
Aromas are of cola, a bit floral, and kind of earthy as well.
Taste is clean and pretty simple. A little dusty, earthy, with light caramel, and simple cola flavors. Finish has some crispness, and light spiciness. Not much flavor here, and I certainly am having a hard time tasting the truffles.
Mouthfeel is very thin, almost feels a little watery.
Drinkability is ok. I certainly expected this to be way more flavorful, and much more interesting. It's not a bad beer, and it's easy to drink, but it's unfortunately pretty boring, with not many redeeming qualities.
