Amber color with a thin thick off-white head with short retention and leaving a few laces.
Aroma of caramel, tangerines, bread and a clear lychee note.
Hoppy flavor with predominant notes of lychees, spices, toasted malts, Thompson grapes and earthy hops. Dry and bitter aftertaste. You certainly feel its 60 IBUs, which also brings flavor, not only a blunt bitterness.
Light bordering medium body with appropriate low carbonation. Alcohol of 6.5% is definitely absent.
Very decent American IPA, and if I recall well I actually felt on this brew the Topaz much more intense with lychees notes than the Kernel Topaz I had a while ago. Dama seems to be getting a hold of doing good IPAs.
Still need to try the other single hops from the kit, but this time I’ll have them separately.
