First had poured from 12-oz. bottle, label stamped born on "11/16/2016," into nonic pint. Sediment-riddled (from the dry-hopping?) rather than "bright" as claimed by the label, this is definitely a pale ale, tending toward the traditional, and more than passable at that.

Pours a hazy cooper with a large foamy head to start with, a orange citrus hoppy
smell to it. The taste is a dry hoppy bite. Overall a nice pale ale but a little closer to an IPA.

Pours a light golden color with at thick, foamy head.
Good hoppy citrus aroma. Very pleasant.
Taste is dry and hoppy. Bitter citrus flavor with a hint of spice.
On the IPA side of APA's.

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/2 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of strong piney hops, strong citrus hops, and sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong citrus hops, hint of pine, sweet malt, and a hint of caramel malt. Overall, tasty, and well blended, but simple and almost boring.

Appearance: Light gold, eggshell cap, good lacing.

Aroma: Strong hops with citrus, conifer, I'll say spicy, and underlying mild malt.

Flavor: Straight forward hop covered malt with an emphasis on piney, citrusy hops being the primary taste. Finish is clean with lingering hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Standard fare here that is above average but doesn't ascend much higher.

Texture: Medium

Overall: Smack in the middle of a crowded field, this one's no better or worse that other IPAs in the group. I would choose this over others only if it was the freshest on the shelf.

BLUE PANTS DRY HOPPED PALE ALE 4/4/16

First out of the gate from the March shipment from the beer club my daughters gifted me for my birthday. We do not get anything from this Alabama brewery in my state.

No visible bottling date info.

Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a Samuel Adams English nonick.

a: Hazy amber with an inch thick white head which receded to even surface foam and spotty lacing.

s: Bready malt and mild alcoho;l.

t; Follows the nose with a light to medium hop bite. Dry finish. Slightly spicy notes develop, and the malt becomes more caramel.

m; Medium, nice body and lingering carbonation tingle.

o: A good American pale, easy drinking yet flavorful enough to keep your attention. Very good dinner brew, but improves as it warms to the point of also being an enjoyable sipper.
