A - Doesn't pour thick, seems thin, cola body and a tan one finger head. Not much retention or lacing.

S - Bourbon is dominate, but somewhat harsh on the nose. Mixed in is roasted malts and some acidic coffee notes.

T - Mainly just a lot of bourbon, vanilla and weak coffee.

M - Thin bodied and low carbonation.

O - I wanted to like this so much, being somewhat local and all. But, it's just a huge let down to what could have been a legit stout. They got a little bourbon happy for a stout that couldn't take that much.

Poured from draft at the Blue Pants taproom.

A: Pitch black with almost non existent head. No lacing at all.

S: Bourbon notes dominate the nose, but some roasted malts, coffee, and chocolate as well.

T: Nice blend of bourbon and roasted malts. Some espresso and bitter chocolate.

M: Almost no carbonation but not unexpected due to the barrel aging. It's a little thin compared to other stouts, but not in a bad way.

O: Enjoyable brew. The bourbon barrel aging adds a nice touch to an already solid stout. Right now this is available only at the taproom, but I understand it will be released in 22 oz bombers in Sept/Oct.
