Bottle pour at Woodshop 7 held at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing in Long Beach, CA.
Best before 7/26/12.
Pours a slightly murky honey orange with a foamy off-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, citrus fruit, herbal hops, and alcohol. Taste is solely of different kinds of hops with a very high level of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty tough beer to drink because it is so unbalanced in the flavors with an assault of super bitter hop flavors.

The beige head is very high and compact with a fine crater on top. Good retention. When it eventually sinks down, it leaves some lacing. The clear golden (7 EBC) liquid got some chill haze.
The smell starts with large hoppy flavours. Smooth notes of oranges and lemons. Some honey-malt. Sweet bread-loaf. Hints of old yeast and metal.
The taste starts with a light malty flavour, it is quite dry and well attenuated. Citric notes, some of them tart like lemon juice. Flowery hints. Light, almost watery aftertaste whit caramel malt, some beef stock and a medium strong neutral bitterness. Some fat-like hints in the background – autolysed yeast? Bitterness and some salty beef stock in the finish.
The carbonation is medium strong; the medium sized bubbles are fresh. The liquid is light, almost wetery.
I don’t really know what to say about this one. Lots of hops, but not enough body. Plus some odd off-flavours.

A clouded amber ale, a warm off-white head with good lacing.
Very much tropical fruits, pine-apple, peaches, mango. Some wet grass.
Starting rather sweet and fruity ("tutti frutti fruit soup"), some spicy bitterness to round of.
Little carbonation, soft and sticky, a good body.
A nice fruit hop soup - really!
