This poured with a dull fizz and what seemed to be almost no carbonation. The color is quite alluring with a deep auburn into brown and to ruby.
The nose holds prune, date, crabapple, tobacco, carroway, anise, molasses and barley malt.
The flavor is pumpernickle, molasses, tobacco, prune, black licorice, peat smoke and barley.
This has tons of flavor and tons of complexity. I'm a huge fan of Scottish Ales but the combination of some flavors is not to my personal liking.
