Poured a decently mid-dark brown with some wonderful head and a bit of nice lacing. Decent scent, not as strong as I would have expected, but a nice thick maltiness and a bit of spiciness in the nose. Interesting flavors, very thick and deep, huge maltiness with a nice rye spiciness. Goes down extremely smooth and well for such a high ABV brew. Very interesting take on a barleywine; I prefer the standard, but it was still quite good and would be excellent for those who like rye malts.
