Black color. Big, beige head. Coffee, chocolate, dust in the aroma. The same notes follow into a malty taste with roasted bitterness and slight acidity.

Look: It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is good.
Smell: A nice strong coffee aroma with some roast. There is a touch of chocolate in the background.
Taste: It has strong roast and coffee. There are very low chocolate notes with some dark fruit.
Feel: It has a smooth, silky texture with a strong bitter finish. There is pleasant alcohol warming.
Overall: The coffee is not as strong as many over stouts; however, that does make for a more balanced beer.

Had this beer from draft at the brewery, poured into a large snifter. Dark brown color with a nice initial head with little lacing. Strong, distinct smell and taste of dark coffee and dark chocolate. A bit on the smokey, earthy side. A bit thin for the style but overall a pretty good beer. (Maybe a tad disappointed. Was expecting some more funk!)
