Hazy golden amber color with plenty of suds in the Pilsener glass. Pleasant aroma of fermenting pineapple and that yeasty Belgian note. Frothy and kind of coarse mouthfeel.
This is a less sour and more fruity kind of Wild Ale. Pineapple and wheat. There is a very pleasant flowery hoppy taste. Tastes kind of yeasty, like a Belgian style. Apparently that's the Brettanomyces bruxellensis that give the name to this stuff. So you wouldn't expect it to be sour, since there's no hint of the lactic acid producing bugs.
This gets more bitter and yeasty at the end of the bottle. All around, it's a fruity and quite drinkable light ale. It's a little watery and flabby and there are some much more interesting examples of the Brett brew. I liked it mixed with part Hoegaarden. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham, Wash.
