Poured from a bomber bottle bought in Seattle.
L - Deep, deep brown color and opaque, although the beer looks clear when held up to the light. Tan head is moderately active when poured, then fades to mostly a strong ring around the glass that generates heavy lacing.
S - Aromas are strong with chocolate and coffee, as expected for a porter. There are s'mores-like hints as well, such as marshmallow and light cinnamon that is reminiscent of graham crackers. There is a low note of roasted grain and also a distracting yeasty note.
T - The early palate is all porter, with a blend of roasted grain, chocolate and coffee. There are other flavors in the mid-palate and finish that bring out marshmallow and light graham cracker. The yeast from the nose is also present in the finish and again is a bit distracting.
F - Medium body with smooth, low to medium carbonation. Bitterness is moderate, but definitely present. Low alcohol presence.
O - This is a good porter with added interesting notes reminiscent of s'mores. Enjoyable, but would be more so with a cleaner fermentation or better sanitation to eliminate the yeast note.
