16oz can poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint glass; first experience with Wingman
o- nice-looking pour; nose and profile provide a funky mix of grainy malts, sour-ish dark fruits, and coffee- not super pleasant unfortunately; got a bit better as it warmed up, but despite that, not a great example of the style

12oz can purchased at the north Spokane Total Wine for $1.99. No freshness date.
Good looking beer, big tan head with lots of lace. Sadly the high point.
Chocolaty and vaguely lactic aroma. A chocolate milk past it's prime?
Not good tasting at all. Starts roasty and chocolaty but then a big mineral-like thing happens that totally blocks the preceding flavor. Ends on a slightly sour note.
Mouthfeel is okay, but who cares?
Not good. I've heard stories that this is not good, but I've been seeing it on shelves for years now, so SOMEBODY must be drinking it. How can this be meant to taste like this? Avoid.

Can from ABV.
Black with a dark brown head, this looks solid. The nose is a nice blend of burnt sugar, medium dark chocolate and coffee, a little alcohol, some muscovado sugar, and a faint hoppy note. The palate opens chocolatey, mildly boozy with some coffee present. The mid-palate has some booze, some vanilla and finishes with an earthy hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is rather distressingly disjointed, with the lack of a sufficient scaffolding to hold the flavor elements together being quite noticeable. Mildly bitter on the finish with toffee, medium dark chocolate and a little coffee, this beer is decent,

Luckily, I got a can that didn't have any issues that other people have had with contamination.
Appearance is deep, deep brown almost black. Tan head, quickly dissipating, minimal lacing. Smell is dark roasted malts, cocoa. Taste is caramelized malts, hearty dark rustic bread, biscuit, finish is dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is silky but viscous, medium-low carbonation. Overall, I really enjoyed it. In a blind taste, I could have believed it was a stout. It is slightly less roasty and has fewer coffee notes than most stouts. It shows how blurred the lines have become between porter and stout.

Convincingly dark, good looking porter. Beautiful tan head, very fine.
Smell is not intense, slightly chemical.
Taste begins ok - malty, hints of sweetness, then on the midpalate and the finish: WTF went wrong? Ass-nasty chemical bitterness - metallic, astringent, unappealing.
Mouthfeel is nice, rather rich. Integrates the 8% ABV quite well.
This beer has some strengths - but holy crap, the taste, once it sits in your mouth for a moment, is out-of-bounds bad. Budweiser or MGD or Genessee bad. The finish is worse.
