Light amber, and a soft orange haze. Head...a tad frothy.
Aroma features honeydew melon, pine underbrush, herbal hops, a vague bubblegum. Malt is doughy.
The flavor starts with light pine and lemon peel. Watermelon sweetness integrates well with earthy and herbal notes mid palate. Underripe stone fruit and what I take as a medicinal quality at the end is taken over by a rye spice.
Feel is fittingly brusque with medium carb. Smooth body, however, as the rye contributes.
This is another stellar beer featuring rye from Crossroads. It's a beer of contrasts: a sweet but smooth, spicy flavor wrapped in a rougher rye malt coating.
